Phil is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Profession Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM), with an Honours degree in Metallurgy and an MPhil in Corrosion. Phil has over 30 years of experience of corrosion testing and consultancy, specializing in sour service corrosion. He has over 40 years overall experience within the industry in the areas of metallurgical laboratory management, quality assurance, steelmaking and processing, corrosion testing, research & development and failure investigations and consultancy.


A member of NACE since 2007, he has served in various capacities as symposium chair, past member of the maintenance panel for ISO 15156 / NACE MR0175, and is currently a committee member of several task groups, vice chair of the Hydrogen-Induced Cracking (HIC) Task Group (TG 082) and Secretary of NACE TG299

 Robin Oakley is a materials engineer who has spent much of the past 24 years working in the field of marine corrosion at QinetiQ and its predecessor organisations within the MOD. 


His career ranges from experimental studies of the corrosion of copper alloys, through researching cathodic protection to the developments of standards and specifications for the Royal Navy

 Brian is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of ICorr and NACE. He is a Past President of ICorr and is President of CEOCOR, the European buried pipeline corrosion technical society. 


He has worked in corrosion and cathodic protection for over 40 years, in consulting engineering, manufacturing and contracting with application

 Brian is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of ICorr and NACE. He is a Past President of ICorr and is President of CEOCOR, the European buried pipeline corrosion technical society. 


He has worked in corrosion and cathodic protection for over 40 years, in consulting engineering, manufacturing and contracting with applications in marine, buried and steel in concrete. In the marine field he has been responsible for some of the largest offshore CP systems in the oil and gas sectors, both impressed current and galvanic anode. 


For the past 10 years he has been actively involved in the offshore renewables industries. For offshore wind clients Brian has been the client technical authority, has led a team of detailed designers including Jim and Robin, and has been an expert witness in a major dispute relating to failed corrosion protection strategy and CP system

Clive Tuck formerly held senior positions at Langley Alloys and Lloyds Register and was a previous Chairman of the Marine Corrosion Forum.  He studied Chemistry at UCL and completed a PhD in Metallurgy at Birmingham University.  


His career covered a number of corrosion resistant alloys: aluminium alloys, copper alloys, nickel alloys and stainless steels and he was involved with both the development of manufacturing methods and fundamental corrosion research, the latter through projects funded at universities.  


A Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Institute of Corrosion and Royal Society of Chemistry, he has published over 50 scientific papers and a book and holds several patents for new materials.

Gary is a Chartered Engineer with a BSc in Materials Science and a PhD in Marine Technology. He’s spent his career in the energy industry, working at Cortest Laboratories, BG Technology and since 2006 at Uniper Technologies as an Integrity Engineer. 


His interests include gas pipelines, storage tanks and offshore renewable energy systems.

She obtained a Ph.D in Corrosion Science and Engineering at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1999. This was followed by working on a number of industrial po

Qing Lu graduated with a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Harbin University of Science and Technology in China. She obtained a Ph.D in Corrosion Science and Engineering at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1999. This was followed by working on a number of industrial post-doctorate projects at UMIST. 


After leaving academia, she has been working in the field of corrosion and materials, making direct contributions to in education (as an industrial supervisor for Masters and Ph.D students), R&D, materials engineering and corrosion communities (as vice chair for NACE TG 544 and committee member for Corrosion Committee of IOM3).

Robin is a Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion and a NACE International accredited Corrosion Specialist with over 50 years experience in corrosion. 


He has been providing consultancy services since 1981, and has used his experience to provide advice on materials selection and all aspects of cathodic protection engineer

Robin is a Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion and a NACE International accredited Corrosion Specialist with over 50 years experience in corrosion. 


He has been providing consultancy services since 1981, and has used his experience to provide advice on materials selection and all aspects of cathodic protection engineering to clients in the petroleum extraction, processing and civil engineering industries as well as for expert witness, defence projects and public utilities. Since 2001 he has been operating in his own consultancy, specialising in project audits and novel cathodic protection techniques.

Rodney is a metallurgist by qualification, and a chartered engineer, who has spent all his working life in the metals industry. 


Rodney's experience has taken him from primary production and rolling, through to coated products, R&D, distribution and marketing. As an original member of the MCF, I am pleased to maintain Langley Alloys commitment to knowledge sharing.

His particular specialty’s include material and fluid mechanics with 1D and 3D flow modelling software. At ROSEN, Lewis is chiefly involved with Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) and External Direct Assessment (ECDA)

At ROSEN, Lewis is chiefly involved with Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) and External Direct Assessment (ECDA) studies, most recently developing advanced predictive modelling solutions by combining both In-Line Inspection data and Direct assessment methodologies.
